Jan August Vitásek (1770-1839) was a czech composer from the classicist era. The well-known fact about him is that he refused an offer of a prestigious directorship at St. Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna, and prefer to stay in Prague and be a music director at St. Vitus Cathedral.
Sheet music for this Menuet in F Major was found by me in a antiquarian bookshop in Prague. Sheet music was edited by musicologist Ludwig Kundera, father of the famous writer Milan Kundera. It is not clear if this piece was originally written for piano or for orchestra or if it is only a part of a larger composition.
Performed by Victor Nikolaev.
