Footage including the engine starting, taxiing, takeoff, fly by and landing.
The Focke-Wulf 190, and the Messerschmitt Bf 109, formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe's Jagdwaffe (Figher Force). This particular aircraft, 173056, was built in July 1944 in Cottbus, Germany and was taken out of action the following month when the Allied forces liberated Reims.
It remained in Reims until 1989 when it was restored and first flew again in 2011. This particular FW-190 is powered by a 1900hp (1397kW) 14 cylinder Shvetsov ASh-82 two-row air-cooled radial engine instead of the usual BMW 801
