We visited Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park, in Laurel County, Kentucky to the site of the location of the 1786 massacre of the McNitt Party. The group was on their way to settle in Kentucky. They organized in Virginia for traveling protection and had made it past the most dangerous part of the journey when they were viciously attacked. Dozens were killed and a mother escaped death by hiding in a hollow tree where she gave birth. Hear the story of this horrific event in this video!
