Wing foil light wind sesh Takuma Kujira 1440 KD Maui 13 F-One Strike CWC 8.0 Cyprus 2022 insta360

First attempts on the Takuma Kujira 1440 in a light wind sesh on Cyprus/Greece.

The foil has an incredible low end and is endlessly stable (especially pitch control is excellent). The glide and maximum low stall speed gives you much more time to finish and learn new maneuvers without being in a hurry. Despite its large width of 108,5cm it is lively with a good carving attempt. The KD Maui 13” tail wing is a perfect match and gives the last kick to support the superior light wind abilities. I would love to try the updated 13R on that setup!

This is definitely my personal preference for those days! The only disadvantage: I will be alone on the water a lot of times ;-)

Wind was between 7-9 kn. For a short period 10-13. That’s when Alex joined and I switched from the F-One Strike CWC 8.0 to 6.0.

I used a Fanatic Sky Air Premium 5’4 (103 l) with Slingshot half-straps in front (great feel, just to know where you stand). The 85 cm aluminum mast was all in front of the box. I used a top plate shim of about 1,5 degrees (probably need another 1 degree more because the board still seemed a bit nose down).

The backwing is a KD Maui 13 which is incredible.
