St. Mary's University (SMU) held a grand graduation ceremony on August 3, 2024, at the Ethiopia National Theater, celebrating the achievements of both postgraduate and undergraduate students.

The ceremony was officially opened by Ato Tedla Haile, Executive Vice President of St. Mary's University, who delivered the opening remarks. He began his speech by congratulating the graduates on the successful accomplishment of their studies. In his speech, he praised the graduates and the university community for their hard work and dedication and the families who supported them throughout their educational journey.

He expressed his pride in the university's contributions over the past 25 years to education, research and community services. He underscored the university's role in empowering graduates to serve the nation and their respective institutions they are to join with integrity and excellence.

As the graduates step into the next chapter of their lives, St. Mary's University remains committed to promoting an environment of learning, growth, and service to the community, Ato Tedla indicated.

The centerpiece of the program was the recognition of students who graduated with distinction in a variety of fields. These outstanding achievers were celebrated, with certificates and trophies presented to outstanding performers by the guest of honor.

At the 2024 graduation ceremony, Dr. Selam Aklilu, Founder and CEO of First Spine Clinic, delivered an inspiring closing speech where she urged the graduates to pursue their goals with unwavering determination and resilience.
