Ghana and Israel are embroiled in a diplomatic dispute after Ghanaian travellers, including parliamentary delegates, were detained and deported at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, which Accra described as humiliating. In retaliation, Ghana deported at least three Israeli nationals. The Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the treatment as “inhumane and traumatic” and warned that mistreatment of its citizens would not be tolerated. Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa emphasized proportional responses if further incidents occur. Israeli authorities have reportedly issued an apology, and both countries are engaging diplomatically to de-escalate tensions.
