Running Freeport using ShadowDark 01

Game night with no set plans? That's our new approach! This play report covers Session 01 of our Shadowdark RPG campaign set in the pirate city of Freeport - the adventure we started during our summer in-person gathering that we're continuing tonight.

In this session, our maritime-themed party - featuring a coastal ranger, a drunken fighter with a treasure map, a knowledge-seeking cleric, a runaway noble duelist, and a woodland ranger - tackles their first adventure in Freeport. What begins as a simple missing person case leads them into underground temple complexes, ambushes by serpent people, and a dramatic final battle where death nearly claims one of their own.
