Juicy, tender, and full of flavor — İnegöl Köfte is a timeless Turkish classic with Balkan roots 🇹🇷✨
Did you know?
İnegöl Köfte was brought to Türkiye in the late 19th century by a Balkan immigrant and became wildly popular in the 1930s — now it's a must-try in every Turkish home!
🥩 What you need:
• 1 kg medium-fat ground beef
• 15 g salt
• 7 g baking soda
• 1 medium onion
🕒 How to make it:
Mix beef with salt & baking soda. Let it rest overnight in the fridge.
Grate the onion (no need to salt!), let it sit for 15 mins, and squeeze out the juice.
Add the onion pulp to the rested meat.
Knead well for 5–6 minutes until smooth.
Shape however you like — patties, balls, logs… your kitchen, your rules!
Let them rest again in the fridge.
Grill on low charcoal heat (traditional) or bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 35 minutes 🔥
🍽️ How to serve it:
• On a plate with grilled tomatoes, peppers — and a side of piyaz (coming soon in another reel 👀)
• OR wrap it up with salad + a dreamy garlic-dill sauce made by mixing yogurt, labneh, and mayo with fresh garlic and dill 🌯💚
