Dr. Ridley will show how to quickly and efficiently design the controller for a current-mode power system. This involves measuring the power stage, observing the switch current, adding a compensation ramp and characterizing the new power stage. The outer loop compensation is then selected, inserted into the control board, and the loop is measured. All design and measurements will be done on a live working power stage.
