A Polymer Clay Tutorial: The All Clay Ring Band

In this tutorial, you’ll learn to make an all clay band that can be attached to many ring tops! The goal here was to make it possible for you to make rings without the need to purchase stainless steel rings (that you would cover with clay). Now, in order to do this, I use my acrylic template soooo…I seem to have substituted one needed thing for another...well, here’s what you do if you don’t have one of those! You’ll need a ring that fits you, a simple smooth band is best, this is what you will trace when making the template. When cutting the ring hole from the slab, lightly impress with the ring band to transfer the shape (follow the 4 pierced homes, remember those?). You will follow this shape when cutting the clay from the hole with your oval or round cutter. Carefully cut the rest of the excess away with your scalpel. The remaining process is the same. Now, the process is definitely easier with my template but it can certainly be accomplished without it if you follow these instructions!
