Hundreds Of Fish Leap From Chinese Lake

At around 2 p.m. on June 1 in Kunming, Yunnan, a large school of fish suddenly began leaping out of the water near the Dianchi Lake Yacht Marina, creating a flurry of splashes.

According to eyewitnesses, approximately 300 to 400 silver carp repeatedly jumped out of the water for about a minute, creating a spectacular scene.

A joint investigation by multiple departments determined that the temperature at the time was around 22C, and the phenomenon was a normal ecological stress response triggered by low oxygen levels in the water following rainfall. It was unrelated to any earthquake or pollution.
