Becoming a skydiver | Lost control | Line twist | Freefall course demonstration
In this AFF course, we practiced losing control and getting our balance back. It's so important to have a good skydiving arch! To imitate the feeling of an arch, lay on the ground and extend your arms and legs, keeping them off the ground. Your legs need to have a small bend and you'll start feeling tension in your lower back. For everyone the arch, hand, and leg placements can look different, so it's important to practice and find that balance for yourself.
CANOPY FIRST - REAR RISERS
• correct minor canopy problems (line twist, slider, end cells) using rear risers with brakes set
• find landing area, holding area and pattern entry point
• if altitude and position permit, do rear riser turns with brakes set
• release brakes, conduct controllability check and steer toward the holding area again
• if altitude and position permit, do rear riser turns with brakes released
• return to normal controls by 2.000ft
FREEFALL DIVE FLOW: 90 DEGREE TURNS
• exit in a strong arch
• check altitude
• practice touch (optional)
• find a heading on the horizon
• start a turn and stop at 90 degrees
• initiate no turns below 6.000ft
