The Goat Canyon Trestle, located in California's Anza-Borrego Desert, is the world's largest wooden railroad trestle, a massive 600+ foot long, 180+ foot high structure built in 1933 for the San Diego & Arizona Eastern Railway after a tunnel collapse. Known as part of the "Impossible Railroad," it's now a popular but difficult hiking destination, featuring abandoned railcars and a challenging desert trek along disused tracks with steep climbs, rock scrambling, and potential hazards like cacti, requiring significant water and preparation.
