Ichiigadake is a 671.6m mountain on the border between Nagato City and Shimonoseki City in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Legend has it that when Empress Jingu went to war, a holly tree was presented from this mountain on Setsubun as a talisman, and the mountain was given the name "Ichii."
At the eighth station, there is a colony of red enoki trees, a prefectural designated natural monument.
There are two routes to the summit: the Shiinoki Route from Kawachi Shrine, and the Hanase Route from the Statue of the Virgin Mary, and they can be enjoyed by beginners and advanced hikers alike.
After descending the mountain, soothe your body and mind at Tawarayama Onsen.
