Ukrainian drones hit Russian refinery as Moscow strikes Kyiv's gas network | Ukraine Brief

Russian attacks across Ukraine killed at least one person and injured 16 in the past 24 hours. Moscow launched 381 Shahed drones and 35 missiles, with massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, including gas production facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions. Ukraine’s Naftogaz CEO said: “It was a combined strike involving 35 missiles, a significant number of them ballistic, and 60 drones.

This is the largest attack on our gas production infrastructure since the start of the full-scale war.” Ukraine struck deep into Russia again, targeting the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery in the city of Orsk, near the border with Kazakhstan, 1,400 km from Ukrainian territory. President Putin claimed advances along much of the frontline, including in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions, while Ukraine’s White Angels police unit evacuated civilians from the frontline area.
