Farewell Berlin-Tempelhof !
Farewell LTU !
Farewell Air Berlin !
It was once again one of those sweet invitations of AirEvents Limited, I could not resist.
Sharing a small room in Dusseldorf with my late friend Dieter Ramthun, it was off to a day’s excursion to Berlin-Tempelhof, paying her our tribute and respect one year, before the “Mother of all Airports” would go into history.
LTU has planned nothing less than an Airbus A330-200, used for long-haul routes, to touch historic grounds, with Captain Josef Moser to lead us through the day.
This flight features the second leg, the sightseeing part through poor weather, performing a rather high low pass at Dresden and Leipzig-Halle Airports before returning to Tempelhof.
Landing at Tempelhof Airport is as always nothing short of spectacular, yet not providing a real challenge, neither for machine nor crew.
This version has been improved and remastered and replaces the earlier version, published four years ago, in 2017.
Welcome to the Sights & Sounds of Classic Aviation.
Thank you for watching my channel.
