I Converted My Floor Tom to a Kick Drum and Got AMAZING Results!

The jungle kit starts by using your floor tom as a kick drum. Conversion kits are available to make this easy. I was initially concerned about the quality of sound, but I found a few solutions, ⭐ including the EMAD head made specially for floor toms.

The most significant change to my 16-inch floor tom was using an Evans EMAD kick drum head. Evans sells a 16-inch, and it comes with the muffle rings just like the other sizes for kick drum.

The resonant head is a REMO Coated Ambassador with a hole cut in it. The video shows my hole-cutting process, but hit me up in the comments if you have any more questions.

I used two mics for recording -- Shure Beta 52a and 91a. The 91 was inside, and the 52 was a couple inches away from the sound hole on the resonant head.
