In John 15:5 Jesus says, “apart from Me, you can do nothing.” We can make all the plans we want, be selfish, go with the ways of this world and more, but we will just be wasting our time and spinning our wheels. Jesus challenges us to live to a higher standard. To focus on Him and abide in His word. When we do that, we will begin to see that He is faithful.
He is ready to produce many benefits within our lives and the lives of those that come into contact with us. This isn’t prosperity preaching because there is no guarantee of world pleasures in a sense of the benefits we get to enjoy in this life. Certainly the apostles spoke joyfully despite their many hardships. Although those may come, when Jesus lives in our hearts we are storing treasures and benefits in Heaven. Use the blessings He has given to you to glorify Him. In the meantime, you can be confident your spiritual journey with Jesus will fulfill every aspect of your life.
