The goal of parenting is to raise children who grow into strong, godly adults capable of standing firm in a world often hostile to their faith. Children should be prepared to face challenges, whether in college, the workforce, or broader society, with the courage and conviction of biblical figures like Daniel and his friends. However, this requires intentional effort and wise decision-making.
Parents must recognize the dangers of sending children into environments where sin is normalized and faith is undermined, such as public schools or secular institutions, without adequate preparation and discipleship. If public schooling is necessary, parents must invest heavily in teaching, deprogramming worldly influences, and grounding their children in God’s Word at home. Whenever possible, choosing a godly education option is wise, but regardless of the path, the responsibility for their spiritual readiness falls on parents.
Ultimately, raising children to be independent, faithful adults involves training them to stand alone in their faith while being equipped to resist the pressures and idolatry of the world.
