"Donna Lee" was originally recorded by the Charlie Parker Quintet on May 8, 1947 for Savoy Records, we are playing it in danzón and cha cha cha time adding a montuno at the end with a chorus ready to improvise, maybe for a traditional jazz lover's expectation to make this melody slower than the original may provoke laughter because most jazz players want to impress with fast phrases, however this song although slower than the original does not lose the essence going through the Cuban clave movement, Donna Lee danzon version was originally recorded by Manny Oquendo's Conjunto Libre in 1976 in New York, here in 2022 we present to you Gerardo Rosales Latin Jazz Quartet straight from the Netherlands doing a night in Latin style.

"Donna Lee" fue originalmente grabada por el Charlie Parker Quintet el 8 de mayo de 1947 para Savoy Records, nosotros la estamos tocando en tiempo de danzón y cha cha cha agregando un montuno al final con un coro listo para improvisar, quizás para la espectativa de un amante del jazz tradicional hacer esta melodia mas lenta que la original puede provocar risa por que la mayoría de los jazzistas quieren impresionar con frases rápidas, sin embargo esta canción aunque esta mas lenta que la original no pierde la esencia pasando por el movimiento de la clave cubana,Donna Lee version danzón originalmente fue grabada por el Conjunto Libre de Manny Oquendo en 1976 en New York, aquí en el 2022 te presentamos ha Gerardo Rosales Latin Jazz Quartet directamente desde los Países Bajos haciendo una noche al estilo latino.
