There are 3 modes of learning: Spell it, Sound it and Say it. The books teach kids early words, letter sounds and spellings. An interesting game section is added with each book. The focus is mainly on short vowels. On the whole the books are combined with fun stories, rhymes and games. During our review process we saw the kids calling the LeapReader their magic pen. They were attentive and curious as the LeapReader read the books. Our favorite book is 'Casey Cat Has A Hat'.

We think this is a great set and is perfect to introduce young kids to reading.
