Floors take up a lot of real estate so what you choose to put on them is key. In the world of trends things are in and out in the blink of an eye. Think of your floors as the base layer of every room’s story, they help define the atmosphere. In the 20 odd years we have lived here there have been many iterations – the best decision I made 13-14 odd years ago was to paint them the same colour as the walls. As the shift in floor design changes in the interiors world, (one minute its all about bold geometric tiles the next high contrast patterns) my floors stay the same. What really takes them to the next level though are the rugs. I painted the boards out the same colour as the walls as I wanted them to recede so anything I put on them would almost float and delight the eye. Rugs are an obsession I have had for many years adding a layer of luxury and that cosy factor. From the beautiful grounding Karachi Woven Rug here to the Pachar. A dream for toes!
