The Russian media, who attended Juhee Lim’s first performance at the concert hall of the Mariinsky Theatre, made enthusiastic comments about the young girl’s talent. “On 22 and 23 June 2010 at the concert hall of the Mariinsky Theatre as part of ‘the Stars of the White Night Festival’, the nine- year-old pianist Juhee Lim, Korea’s new wunderkind, performed with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under the Valery Gergiev instead of the planned concert featuring the violinist Leonidas Kavakos, who has been forced to cancel his concerts St. Petersburg and the other European cities due to illness. The young Korean Musician began her solo career at the unprecedented age of nine. Many renowned wunderkinds-such as Evgeny Kissin or Vadim Repin-began somewhat later, at the age of twelve or thirteen.”
Juhee Lim has performed in solo recitals in Korea and Japan many times. As an active chamber musician, she has given many performances with different ensembles at the Seoul Spring Festival for several years. In addition, she has played at the Suntory Hall Chamber Music Garden in Japan. In 2020 June, Juhee Lim has performed in a solo recital titled ‘Juhee Lim plays Juhee Lim’. At the recital, she premiered ‘Etude Juhee Lim’, whom French composer Karol Beffa dedicated to her. Since February of 2020, She has been participating in music magazines as an illustrator, and writing articles for the Hankookilbo newspapers titled ‘Juhee Lim’s music note’ from June of 2020. She was selected as a power leader by Forbes magazine published in Korea in 2020.
Born in 2000, Juhee Lim made her orchestra debut at the age of nine with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. She has performed with Mariinsky Orchestra, London Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic, Tokyo Philharmonic, Polish Kammer Philharmonic, Asia Philharmonic, Shanghai Sinfonietta, under such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Myung-Whun Chung and Osmo Vanska. Having been invited to the White Night Festival in Russia, Rheingau Music Festival in Germany, Annecy Classic Festival in France, Suntory Hall Chamber Music Garden in Japan and Seoul Spring Festival in Korea among others. In the fall of 2020, Juhee Lim began her Bachelor of Music degree studies at The Juilliard School under the guidance of Robert McDonald.
