I picked up this late '70's mono Concert Hall "Swingmate" 2-speed portable record player that uses a BSR record changer at the flea market the other day for $15. As it turns out, I paid about $14 too much for it.
My intent was to fix it and flip it; but, it turns out that everything that can be wrong is wrong. I got the record changer freed up enough to tell that the speaker voice coil was open, the high output crystal cartridge was dead, there were bad solder connections on the amp board, and the AC plug was bad. As far as the electronics, I fixed everything but the cartridge; which, I don't have and I can't see spending $28+shipping for a NOS one because I don't think I could recover my investment. So, this thing will likely get used for parts.
