The Easiest Way to Build Websites in 2026 (Figma MCP → Cursor)

If you don’t use this AI workflow in 2026 you are totally missing out. Figma has released it’s server MCP and it’s seriously good.

Now you can connect your Figma directly with a code editor like Cursor and code your entire app using AI for free. This is quite a big deal because the MCP can get more information then just a screenshot. It can get variables, layer tree structure and styles which helps in generating realistic outcomes of your screen, but there’s a catch which I’ll share with you at the end of the video.

You can use it to code entire Figma applications or just deliver a very realistic prototype to your team or your clients. Now let me show you how.

First, go to your Figma Preferences and make sure you have the Figma MCP enabled.

Second, go to your cursor and add the server’s IP to the server list. To do so, add a new MCP server, add a new object called Figma with with a URL key which will be your localhost address, "http://127.0.0.1:3845/mcp"

Finally, let’s get copy a frame from our Figma and paste it into Cursor with the following prompt:

Design this screen from Figma [figma screen link]

Make sure you:

make a log in page in a auth route
take into consideration the layer tree from the metadata
use only mui material components. for example "Button is Button"
do not chance anything to the design
