We bring to you short videos by Karuna Sagari on various topics of Bharatanatyam that are authentic, bite-sized and accessible. It may be a valuable resource for Bharatanatyam dancers and educators. This is part of Bhakti Natya Niketan’s Outreach Initiative to promote insightful dance education beyond geography.

About Karuna Sagari:
Karuna Sagari is a Classical Bharatanatyam Artist who is currently under the mentorship of Malavika Sarukkai. She is a Kalakshetra Alumna who previously trained under Sheejith Krishna for a decade. She holds a Masters Degree in Tamil from Annamalai University and a Masters Degree in South Asian Studies, Heidelberg University, Germany.

About the Institute: 
Bhakti Natya Niketan (BNN), founded by Karuna Sagari in 2008 is a Bharatanatyam Institute at Coimbatore. Over 14 years, BNN has trained more than 500 students from over 14 Indian States and 6 countries with over 20 qualified teachers who have worked with the institute.

With a rich experience of working with students from diverse backgrounds, Founder Karuna Sagari devised an Organic pedagogy where a learner learns Bharatanatyam like how a child learns his/her mother tongue.

Rithika is a student of Bhakti Natya Niketan since 2009 and has been part of BNN's major productions over the years. Karuna Sagari's Bhakti Natya Niketan presented her at the very first crowd funded Arangetram in which she had the honour of having senior artist, Malavika Sarukkai as the chief guest.
