TESTED: 2024 HUSQVARNA TE300 vs FE350

Let’s assume you’ve made you choice about what brand of motorcycle you want to buy. But how do you then choose between the two-stroke and four-stroke models it offers? Which machine is inherently better suited to you, and why? What sort of terrain does each excel in? And would your decision change if you spent more time riding chopped-up racetracks rather than smoother trails?

To answer those age-old questions, we put Husqvarna’s biggest-selling two- and four-stroke enduro models – the 2024 TE300 and FE350 – up against each other at a Transmoto 8-Hour event; tested by a couple of event regulars and Husky fanatics – father and son combination, Rob and Marcus Dummer.

We gave the boys chance to recce the track while it was still smooth ahead of the weekend, and then checked in with them again on Sunday arvo after they’ve raced the bikes for eight gruelling hours around what evolved into a very different (and much rougher!) beast.
