My second pair of Birkenstocks to resole were these clogs sent in by a viewer. They turned out to have very little sticking the soles to the footbeds anymore, so the soles were too easy to remove. I'm glad they didn't come apart on her while she was wearing them! I glued the new soles on well, so they won't come unstuck by accident. Because the original soles came off so cleanly, I was able to use them as a pattern to cut out the new soles. I used my bench grinder with 200 grit sand paper to trim them up to the line. Once they were on, I had to even up the heels with the cork. I then re-sealed the cork with new latex, and I cleaned the footbeds with suede shampoo.
If you want me to refurbish your Birkenstocks, contact me via my Etsy store. I charge $50 per pair. You pay to ship them to me, and I include the return shipping in the $50 charge. It may cost more if there is damage to the cork footbeds or the straps.
