Winter Isn’t Done Yet… A Freezing Stealth Camp by the Sea

A winter storm has just passed and temperatures are dropping below freezing as I attempt a stealth camp by the sea in Cromer, North Norfolk.
This could be the coldest and most exposed overnight park-up of the winter so far in my VW T4 Campervan.

This time I’m parking up in a busy seaside town, right by a train station and a closed nightclub, surrounded by busy residential streets and late night foot traffic. Not exactly the quietest place to spend a winter night… but sometimes the sketchiest parkups make for the most memorable camps.

With the diesel heater running, the air fryer on, cheeky joosh in hand and the sea crashing nearby, I settle in for a cold but surprisingly cozy night before waking up to a beautiful Cromer sunrise.

This is real UK winter van life no perfect campsites, empty beaches, cold weather, urban stealth, and the full experience of sleeping in my camper by the sea in January.
