I heard that there was a town in Italy that felt pretty much like Tunisia, where 70% of the people are from Tunisia originally, you can speak Tunisian on the street, and there's even a mosque that has calls to prayer five times a day. Being that I've spent the past two years living in Tunisia, I knew I had to go and see this place for myself.

Only 100 miles across the Mediterranean sea from Tunisia, the Italian town Mazara del Vallo is one of the closest European cities to North Africa.

In this video, I meet up with a couple of college-age children of Tunisians who moved to this Italian town back in the 90's and get their perspective on what it's like growing up in such a unique place. We even get the local Italian perspective on what it's like coexisting in this community with so many Tunisians.
