Amtrak's California Zephyr-Documentary Version

Take the ride of a lifetime aboard Amtrak's California Zephyr. This video was produced by Emmy Award Winner John Yeager. Your video adventure starts in Chicago and winds through America's Heartland on it's journey westward.

A great deal of this documentary was shot by Emmy Award Winning Photographer Jim Bolser exclusively for Green Frog. Jim's photography gives you extraordinary scenes of head-in cab action through the canyons of Western Colorado, and exciting aerial photography over the peaks of the high Sierras. Additional outstanding photography was also supplied by world renown photographer Steve Neff who spent more than a month following the Cal-Z from Chicago to the West coast capturing splendid action off train.

During your 2400 mile trip on the Zephyr you'll visit with some fascinating people including a Rocky Mountain medicine man, a rodeo star they call the "One-Armed Bandit", and a Nevada Cowboy Poet, just to name a few. On your trip you'll also meet Amtrak's most interesting and colorful crews and find out why a Colorado engineer says he has the best job in the world. Your tour makes a special stop at Utah's historic Golden Spike Monument and inside the treasured California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento.
