updates:
Armies and towns can now defect when encountering an overwhelming enemy force rather than fight to the bitter end. Kingdoms that lack a king will be much more susceptible to defections. Parties with higher level troops are less likely to defect, and parties with very high level troops or royalty (kings and princes) will never defect
Archers do more damage in melee, but they're still pretty bad at it
When a king dies, the amount of upgrades retained by the faction depends on the level of the new king. Princes retain more upgrades than soldiers promoted to be king.
Changed experience calculations to take more experience to reach higher levels, and give more experience upon killing high level marbles. Also, now 80% of XP comes from dealing the lethal blow, and 20% of XP comes from dealing damage, so experience can be spread out more across multiple marbles
Health regenerated upon level up restored to 50% (half)
Bandit parties now come with a level 2 berserker and more troop variation, after all they're supposed to be a motley band
Dual wield upgrades now come at level 3
The alliance shuffle timer is now extended by 5 seconds every time an alliance battle happens; if alliances are being used often, they'll last longer
Armies now consider the strength of nearby friendly and enemy armies when deciding whether to assault an enemy town or to defect to an enemy army
A lot of performance optimizations to reduce lag
Added a lot of crash-proofing to the code to make sure that if something goes wrong, the simulation won't grind to a halt
