Gliomas are primary CNS tumors that often arise in the brain. They originate from glial cells. Glioblastoma is a type of glioma, and it is the most common primary CNS malignancy. It is also the most aggressive with a poor overall prognosis. Other types of gliomas include oligodendrogliomas and astrocytomas. In this talk, we discuss the classification and WHO 2021 grading system for gliomas, as well as a general overview of their management, which involves surgery (maximal safe resection), adjuvant radiation, and chemotherapy.
