Live Yoga Music by Palencia | Relaxing Instrumental Soundtrack for Yoga & Meditation

I met Mexican guitarist and vocalist Palencia at a yoga class, thanks to an introduction from Mateo Rose, audio engineer for Panteón 19 in Todos Santos, Mexico. What followed was a rare and intimate opportunity: to film and record a Global Sound Concert entirely on my own — in a mythical space filled with yogis.
With the generous support of yoga instructor Anna Castillo, I was able to document her class and capture a beautiful convergence of music, movement, and healing. Palencia’s heartfelt vocals and guitar melodies became a live soundtrack to the session, blending seamlessly with the breath and energy of the room.
This episode is a tribute to spontaneity, connection, and the power of live music in sacred spaces.

“I was born in Mexico City and grew up with music all around because of my father. When i moved to Baja i discovered a new mystical air that provoked an explosion of inspiration to express truth through music. Almost all of my songs are written on ternary rhythms which i have always found very hypnotic and shamanic. The perfect vibe to communicate how i feel.” - Palencia

Everything was tracked directly to the mix pre 6 (no computer). The ear trumpet lab mic, the direct out of the guitar into the combo jack (no DI), and a DPA 4060 mini Omni mic I clipped to the guitar’s sound hole. Channel 4 was empty but I still needed stereo ambi. For that I put my old Sony d50 in record standby so it would pass the built in ORTF onboard mics via line out which I recorded via stereo mini in to the mix pre 6 for a total of 5 discrete channels 😉
