How Brighton Sealed The PERFECT Win Away To Nottingham Forest

Brighton and Hove Albion claimed a composed 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest as Fabian Hurzeler’s side moved into fifth place in the Premier League on Sunday. Goals from Maxim De Cuyper and Stefanos Tzimas capped a performance shaped by control, resilience and sharp work across all areas of the pitch.

Albion started with intent as Diego Gomez slipped Yankuba Minteh in behind for an excellent early chance that set the rhythm for Albion’s attacking intent. De Cuyper, Ferdi Kadioglu and Georginio Rutter combined well on the left throughout the first half, with Lewis Dunk and Jan Paul van Hecke often stepping in to recycle attacks.

Chances continued as Ayari volleyed narrowly over after a corner was cleared, while Mats Wieffer twice arrived in dangerous areas, dragging one effort wide and seeing another blocked.

Forest threatened when Morgan Gibbs White and Dominguez created space for Igor Jesus, but Brighton struck before the break through Maxim De Cuyper. Rutter and Wieffer linked up neatly with Minteh, while Welbeck’s decoy run opened the gap for De Cuyper to finish calmly into the far corner.

After half time, Georginio Rutter was forced off through injury, making way for Jack Hinshelwood, who scored last time out against Brentford. Verbruggen had to save expertly from Igor Jesus and then from Gibbs-White. Carlos Baleba, Stefanos Tzimas, Brajan Gruda and Joel Veltman were introduced as Brighton looked to see out the closing stages.

However, Albion were able to create a cushion by securing a second goal late in the day. Gruda chased a long ball from Verbruggen, and forced Sels to come off his line. The loose ball ran for Tzimas who reacted quickest to steer in, despite Morato’s desperate attempt to recover. Fabian Hurzeler’s structure held firm to the end, with Sean Dyche’s Forest unable to find a way through as seven minutes were added.

With only one goal conceded in recent matches and contributions from every player involved, Brighton’s rising confidence under Hurzeler continues to build momentum in an increasingly ambitious Premier League campaign.
