The BOCC Presents “Teach the True Gospel of Repentance and Why Mark 1:15 - Rev 22”
“The True Gospel of Repentance: Why Christ’s Call Still Stands in an Evil World”
The true gospel message preached by Jesus Christ—a gospel that begins with repentance, not affirmation, compromise, or cultural approval.
Jesus’ first public message was clear and unmistakable:
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” — Mark 1:15
Yet today, repentance is often minimized or ignored, even as Scripture warns that the world lies in wickedness (1 John 5:19). This message confronts that reality honestly, biblically, and with urgency.
1. The Gospel Begins with Repentance (Mark 1:15)
Repentance is not optional—it is foundational.
This sermon explains what repentance truly means:
Turning from sin
Turning toward God
Submitting to Christ’s authority
Living transformed lives
Without repentance, the gospel is incomplete.
2. Understanding the Nature of the World (1 John 5:19)
Scripture plainly states that the present world system is under evil influence. This sermon examines how moral confusion, cultural celebration of sin, and rejection of biblical truth reflect what the Bible has already warned would happen.
3. When Creation Is Worshiped Instead of the Creator (Romans 1:25–32)
Paul describes a society that exchanges God’s truth for lies, resulting in moral disorder. This passage is addressed not to condemn people, but to reveal how rejecting God’s design leads to spiritual blindness and judgment.
4. Who Will Not Inherit the Kingdom (1 Corinthians 6:9–10)
Scripture is explicit that persistent, unrepentant sin—of any kind—excludes people from the Kingdom of God. This section emphasizes that repentance and transformation are possible, because Christ came to save sinners, not affirm sin.
5. A Coming Reckoning Before the End (2 Peter 3:1–11)
Peter warns that scoffers will deny judgment, but God’s patience has a purpose:
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise… but is longsuffering… not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
This sermon highlights the mercy of God before the day of judgment arrives.
6. The Final Warning and Invitation (Revelation 22:11–21)
The Bible closes with a sobering declaration: people will remain as they choose—but Christ is coming quickly. This message calls listeners to choose repentance, truth, and life while there is still time.
