Today's video begins in Lytton, a small village that on June 29, 2021 became the hottest place in Canada when it recorded 49.6°C (121.3°F). Sadly, the following day, a forest fire tore through the village, destroying most buildings. Now, almost a year later, the fenced-off burned-down ruins still remain ... a silent witness of this terrible tragedy.
From Lytton we will continue north and drive the entirety of the Lytton-Lillooet Highway (Highway 12), which is up there with the most scenic drives in BC. It follows the Fraser River through rugged landscape with stunning views of mountains.
This video (and the highway) ends at the junction with Highway 99, just across the bridge from a small town of Lillooet.
