Prince's fingerprints are all over Sheila E.'s first hit. The song was originally intended for Apollonia 6 but instead given to Sheila E. along with the writing credit.
This song is one of those rare instances where the 12" single is shorter than the LP version, and for the "Club Edit" two and a half minutes were removed. This version re-edits the song to give it a more uptempo start, extend the section between the second and third verse, and tighten up what was the back half of the song to wrap it all up sooner.
My specs:
Recorded using a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO turntable with Acryl-It platter, record clamp and AT VM540ML cart. All records are cleaned on a VPI 16.5 with Adobe Audition CC used for recording and processing with clicks removed manually.
