At 3:03 a.m. on the morning of March 4, 2017, 14-year-old Carson Molle went out to his family’s garage and did something unthinkable, something irreversible, something sadly all too common.
When he awoke several hours later at Children’s Wisconsin — confused, scared and surrounded by his loving family — something inside of him had changed. From unimaginable darkness came a renewed light.
This is Carson’s story.
But he’s not alone. Wisconsin's kids are facing a mental and behavioral health crisis. Right now, one in five children in Wisconsin is living with a serious mental illness and our youth suicide rate is significantly higher than most of the United States. Children’s Wisconsin is committed to addressing this crisis.
Our need for pediatric mental and behavioral health care is great and we know this crisis will have a lasting impact on the mental development, physical health and future well-being of our kids long into adulthood. We must act now. To learn more about what Children’s Wisconsin is doing to help our kids, visit our Mental and Behavioral Health website at https://childrenswi.org/medical-care/....
