(7 Jan 2015) The Iranian President on Wednesday criticised leaders of the Muslim world for failing to do more to prevent attacks in Syria, Iraq and other Muslim countries.
"There are countries that assist these less-than-animal murderers and give them money and weapons," Hassan Rouhani said, speaking at the 28th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.
Rouhani called for a "common sense of responsibility" to prevent the violence and destruction caused by militants in various cities.
"We are responsible for every building in the Muslim World," he added.
The three-day conference in Tehran is attended by Islamic scholars and clerics from Russia, France, Tunisia, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, Pakistan, Iraq, Jordan, and Afghanistan.
It aims to promote solidarity among Muslim nations and find ways of addressing challenges in those countries.
