Getting after it splitting more Oak, Maple and Walnut firewood today. Tried a little trick that I think a lot of us forget about when splitting wood. Of course wood splits better when you split with the grain on the end of the round or log, but most splitters don’t care if you split that grain in a vertical or horizontal orientation. They do, however care if it’s cross grain, I don’t recommend splitting across the grain.
