7 Forgotten 1970s Cartoons That Shaped a Generation

The 1970s were the golden age of Saturday morning cartoons, the era when you grabbed a cereal bowl, parked in front of a wood-paneled TV, and got swept away by space operas, monster-of-the-week battles, and surprisingly serious storytelling. In this video we revisit 7 forgotten 70s cartoons that still live rent-free in our heads and quietly shaped a generation:
• Battle of the Planets (G-Force / Science Ninja Team Gatchaman) , bird suits, space battles, 7-Zark-7, and the show that introduced a ton of kids to Japanese animation.
• Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato), serialized drama, the Argo, and the Wave Motion Gun that turned Saturday mornings into epic sci-fi.
• Filmation’s Flash Gordon (1979–80) , pulpy, faithful Alex Raymond adventure with Ming the Merciless and movie-level ambition.
