This is a video I captured while flying as a First Officer for American Airlines in a B757. This is landing on a clear day at Jackson Hole, Wyoming (JAC) on Runway 19 on 2/11/2006. The audio is not synced very well with the video! Typically you shoot for 50 feet over the landing threshold. At JAC, due to the short runway length at high elevation, and the fact that the last 1/3 of the runway was usually with frost so our braking was not very good, many of us shot for 20-30 feet over the threshold. In this video, considering we made the midfield turnoff, we more than likely crossed the threshold at 20 feet, and upon touchdown, used full reverse and max braking. The 50, 30, 20 automated calls should be over the runway as we approach! The 500' automated callout was closer to a mile out. Arriving, we have to stay away from a Moose preserve there, so we come close to that mountain off the left wing. The Moose preserve is on the right side.
