Learning Mandarin Pronunciation From Zero… in 30 Minutes

Can you learn Mandarin pronunciation in just 30 minutes… starting from basically zero? 🇨🇳🔉
In this livestream, I’m putting myself to the test using real linguistic tools, the IPA chart, and the exact methods I use when I learn a new language from scratch.

I’ve never studied Mandarin pronunciation seriously, so you’ll see the full process: the confusion, the breakthroughs, and everything in between.
My goal is to show you how a linguist approaches a totally new sound system — and how much progress you can actually make in such a short time.

🌱 In this stream, I’ll try to:
✨ Learn the core Mandarin sounds using the International Phonetic Alphabet
🔉 Figure out tricky consonants and vowels (looking at you, retroflexes and apical vowels)
🗣️ Practice a short Mandarin phrase using the IPA transcription from a real phonetic study
📈 See how far I can get in 30–60 minutes
