The BEST FREE Views of NYC Part 2 | Gantry Plaza State Park, Long Island City

Today I will be walking through Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City. This park features some of the best free East River views of the Manhattan skyline, including the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the United Nations and Freedom Tower. Once an old railroad waterfront, the gantries in the park take you back New York City’s industrial past. South of Gantry Plaza, we will also be walking though Hunter's Point South Park, that has views of the Manhattan Bridge going out to Brooklyn. These park are truly amazing for a tourist, local or anyone just visiting New York City.

We will also be heading to Sweet Chick, a chicken and waffles place that has a mini location here on Vernon Blvd, steps from the park and 7 and G trains. While it is currently consider to be “lil Sweet Chick” because of a reduced menu, the portions and options are far from it! If you would like to check out another Sweet Chick, there are locations in the Lower East Side, Williamsburg and Prospect Heights.
