An ideal solution is that which follows Raoult's law, and non - ideal solutions can have positive or negative deviations from ideality. This is mainly because of interactions existing before or after mixing the solute and the solvent (A-A interactions, B-B interactions, A-B interactions). Extreme positive or negative deviation could lead to Azeotropes that get formed. Check out all this and more in this video!
