अयोध्या में 3 प्रकार की परिक्रमाएं की जाती हैं अयोध्या में कुल 3 परिक्रमाएं करने का विधान है। पहली परिक्रमा 84 कोसी है जिसे अधिकतर साधु-संत करते हैं। दूसरी 14 कोसी और तीसरी 5 कोसी परिक्रमा है। 14 कोसी और 5 कोसी परिक्रमा ग्रहस्थ लोगों द्वारा की जाती है और यह अयोध्या नगरी के अंतर्गत आती है। 84 कोसी परिक्रमा अयोध्या नगरी के साथ ही उसके आस पास के नगरों में भी की जाती है। अयोध्या की 84 कोसी परिक्रमा के पीछे मान्यता है कि जो एक बार सच्ची श्रद्धा से पूरे नियम के साथ अयोध्या की 84 कोसी परिक्रमा कर लेता है। फिर उसे 84 योनियों में नहीं भटकना पड़ता है और अंत में उसे मोक्ष मिल जाता है। कार्तिक मास में अयोध्या नगरी की परिक्रमा करने का सबसे शुभ महीना माना जाता है।

There is a rule to do a total of 3 parikramas in Ayodhya. The first parikrama is 84 Kosi which is done by most of the sages and saints. The second is 14 Kosi and the third is 5 Kosi Parikrama. 14 Kosi and 5 Kosi Parikrama are done by the people of Grahastha and it comes under the city of Ayodhya. 84 Kosi Parikrama is performed not only in the city of Ayodhya but also in its surrounding cities. The belief behind the 84 Kosi Parikrama of Ayodhya is that one who once completes the 84 Kosi Parikrama of Ayodhya with complete devotion, completes the 84 Kosi Parikrama of Ayodhya. Then he does not have to wander in 84 species and finally he gets salvation. Kartik month is considered to be the most auspicious month to circumambulate the city of Ayodhya.
