1948 is a year at the crossroads for America. World War II has ended, and the direction America will take in this brave new world is unclear. This year will have a US presidential election unlike any other before or since.

An accidental president on the ropes and close to collapse, fighting to maintain a presidency which all the experts say is doomed. A young gangbuster seeking to end almost 16 years of Democratic domination. A Southern renegade with a dark secret leading a rebellion in an attempt to turn back the clock. And a good-hearted but stunningly naive former vice president leading a quixotic crusade against a system he feels is rigged against "The Common Man".

Eagle-eared listeners may notice that Matt sounds a little weird this episode. That's because his microphone cable sat next to my monitor's PSU which caused some very loud buzzing on account of electrical interference. I was able to remove the buzzing, but as a result, Matt sounds a bit muddy and distant sometimes.
