With the chassis of the '79 Mustang carrying all the way into 2004, you have a unibody design. Compare this to the 2005 and newer Mustangs, and you'll notice the frame rail has a large gap spanning the center of the car. While it was designed like this, it leaves a lot of room for the entire chassis to flex and bend under even light loads. With subframe connectors, you are able to connect and weld in a stronger piece that ties these two points together, adding much-needed strength to your Mustang.
