For this month’s installment of Bass & Bars I had the honor of building with the Legend Dres of Black Sheep. He and I have been plotting this for some time now, and I can’t believe how crazy this jam came out. We mashed up 2 of his classics. Dres is a prolific artist and writer make sure to check out the breadth of his work. This original beat was produced by Mista Lawnge of Black Sheep and the main bassline + backbone of the composition is none other than my teacher Maestro Ron Carter, the most recorded jazz bass player in history.

I'd also like to introduce my newest axe "The Spellman" a one of a kind acoustic-electric bass crafted by Warwick. It’s a sound like no other and my new best buddy. My good friend Scotty from Utopia Bagels called me one day INSISTING I needed an acoustic bass in my arsenal and to pick out the best one in the world and he would buy it for me. Sending a huge thank you to Scotty and the entire Spellman family!
